Location

Kuggaviksgården is beautifully situated by the sea on the west coast Sweden. It is a conference center with attached hostel, located some 30 minutes south of Gothenburg. The area is owned by the sobriety organisation IOGT-NTO, and is an alcohol and drug free environment. Hostel accommodation is provided in partnership with the Swedish Tourist Association.

Getting there

Coming by car from Gothenburg follow the E6 south for 35 km and take exit 58 towards Åsa/Fjärås. Continue on Varbergsvägen through Åsa and then turn right at the sign Vandrarhem.

The nearest train stations are in Åsa and Kungsbacka with commuter trains arriving from Gothenburg central station. From there take bus 732 at get off at Kuggavik. Public transport company Västtrafik has a traffic planner to facilitate.

For visitors from abroad, several regular as well as low-cost airlines (such as Ryanair and Norwegian) fly to Gothenburg (Göteborg). There are bus to the central station in Gothenburg, from where you can take the train (see above).

Accommodation

Hostel at Kuggaviksgården

A limited number of beds are available in the hostel at the conference place and they will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. We can not guarantee availability for late bookings. All payments for accommodation is to be made on site on the day of arrival.

The price for accommodation at Kuggaviksgården is around 400 SEK per person per night in a double room. There is an option of staying in either a double bedroom or a small dormitory (4–6 people) in a building with a joined communal area with kitchen. A few beds in a dormitory are available for around 200 SEK per person per night. If possible, and upon special and early request, we will try to arrange single rooms for 800 SEK per person per night. There are also a three cabins available with four beds and its own bathroom and kitchen for 1200 SEK/night. All prices are subject to change.

We recommend that you bring your own bedsheets and towel, or for you may rent sheets and a towel from the hostel for the duration of your stay for 100 SEK. All guests are required to clean their room/house thoroughly before leaving, or pay a fee to have this service provided. Please note that check-out time is before noon on Monday.

Camping at Kuggaviksgården

A limited number of guests (space is limited) are welcome to camp overnight at Kuggaviksgården in tents, with access to toilet and shower. The cost for a tent is 150 SEK per night per tent including 2 people (+25 SEK per night for each additional person). There is also space for two or three caravans/motor-homes for a cost of 300 SEK per vehicle per night, including electricity.
